Pad Arm Implants
Inserting nose pad arms into the bridge of plastic frames is a quick and easy way to provide more comfort
and stability for patients who are in love with a particular plastic frame, but lack the deeper nose bridge
that the frame was designed for. Pad arms come in metal heat-sink style, titanium and plastic.
Implementation
Before the pad arms are implanted, the nose bridge of the frame is sanded down into a flat surface and
then polished. Depending upon the material, the pad arms are then either inserted with heat or a cold
insert is performed. Both processes provide a strong grip. Optyl and materials such as polycarbonate
require a heat sinking. Once inserted a generic nose pad is all that is needed for the Titanium and regular
metal implants.
